The Federal Government College, Ohafia Bid Opening event for 2022 projects which was scheduled to hold on the 14th July, 2022 has been postponed to the 27th July 2022 by 12noon. This is as a result of some logistic challenges. We regret all inconveniences the postponement may have caused.

RESUMPTION OF OTHER CLASSES (JS 1,  JS 2, SS 1 & SS 2)
The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the resumption of other classes of our educational institutions as from the 11th of October 2020.

In the light of the above, Federal Government College, Ohafia hereby release these guidelines to all concerned parents and students for a smooth return.

The students are to return on the 11th of October, 2020 before 3pm.  

REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS RETURN.
The following are some compulsory items that all returning students must possess.

1. Proof of payment of all outstanding bills including the (₦28,500) third term fees (visit  https://fgcohafia.centralbillingfuc.com) to access your current bills.
2. Proof of payment of all outstanding PTA bills including that of third term 
3. Face masks that are washable (at least 7 pieces) and a good number of handkerchief.
4. Personal hand sanitizer.
5. Personal body thermometer
    

OTHER ITEMS
JS 1-Tissue Paper, Detergent(Ariel/Klin) 900g, Heavy duty sack bag, White board marker
JS 2 -Tissue Paper, Detergent(Ariel/Klin) 900g, Izal 500ml, Broom, Energy bulb (40watts)
SS 1-Tissue Paper, 250ml Dettol, Energy bulb (40watts) and 1ltr Hypo
SS 2-Tissue Paper, 250ml Dettol, Broom and Detergent (Ariel/Klin) 900g 
Also, the following should be strictly adhered to in order to reduce person to person contacts and gatherings.
Every student must;

1. Wear a very low hair cut.
2. Have complete set of cutlery and other dining hall items.
3. Have personals and toiletries like soap tooth paste, body cream, towels etc.
4. Adhere to all COVID 19 prevention protocols like social distancing, use of the hand washing stands and hand sanitizers at the entrance of every hall and classroom regularly, etc

Parents are to take note of the above and ensure that they prepare their wards properly.Also ensure that you visit our website  www.fgcohafia.com  regularly for updates as we get ready for resumption.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved the resumption of exit classes of our educational institutions as from the 4th of July 2020.

In the light of the above, Federal Government College, Ohafia hereby release these guidelines to all concerned parents and students for a smooth return.

The SS 3 students are to return on the 4th of August, 2020 before 3pm. Instruction  for the return date of JS 3 students will come later this is in order to avoid overcrowding, in compliance to the COVID-19 guidelines.

Sigmund Freud was undoubtedly right when he said decades ago that the child was the father of man. No one - during his reign or at this present time - has ever been able to disprove the ingenious postulation of the psychologist. This is  because the man wouldn't have made it into adulthood without being a boy first. The woman too - like her gender counterpart - wouldn't have been successfully bred into elderliness without being a girl first, hence the prominent saying: "the young shall grow, and the old shall survive". Childhood is unique. It is the pathway to the future. The child is special, and as such should he be treated. The child is fragile. That's why the society should set an agile platform for him, not only to grow, but to glow. He should be enabled to flow too in an ambience (of a system) that would ensure and afford him an applaudable future - when he would have grown into adulthood with a career-path chosen.
The African child is apparently deprived of the aforementioned, and he seems to be dying in silence. He feels helpless that the environment he lives in isn't friendly enough to cater for his yearnings and aspirations. He unfortunately feels embittered on a daily basis.
The menace of rape on the girl-child, for instance, is on the increase and the justice system seems patting the perpetrators of the dastardly act on the back, whereas the victims wallow eternally in haplessness. Since rape started rearing its ugly head, some legislatures are yet to conclude on a corresponding penalty to be meted out to the culprits. Till today, bills are still inconclusively passing through reading. And in few African societies where there seem to be penalties attached to the viciousness of rape, such penalties are either less or not commensurate with the offence committed, hence the excruciating prevalence and persistence of the menace.

INTRODUCTION 
In William Wordsworth’s 1802 poem, My Heart Leaps Up, he states that, ‘The child is the father of the man”. By this profound statement, it is established that the growth of any race, nation or creed can be predicated on the rearing socially, culturally and by the psychological make-up of the children of such a society. In order to achieve this lofty goal, due attention must be paid to this category of members of African society. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of a Child states that “a child is a human being below
the age of 18 years unless under the law applicable to the child.” The rearing must be multifaceted and multi-disciplinary; this include education, health, emotional stability, etc. Above all, there must be a child friendly Justice Administration. 
OVER ALL PROTECTION 
As human race is continually evolving, diverse issues are ceaselessly surfacing. At different stages of these developments, children are always caught dependent on the society that is struggling to adapt and adjust to the new situation. As a result of their vulnerability, children must be protected from the old issues such as armed conflicts, communal clashes, war, hunger, domestic violence, divorce, separation, etc. as well as the new emerging issues such as child trafficking, child labour, child soldiering, child pornography, cyber bullying, sexual abuse, etc. 
The most alarming is the sexual abuse, not even from strangers and neighbours but by supposedly trusted members of the family. All these can be said to be diverse manifestations of violence. Violence, according to United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) is all forms of physical or mental violence, injury or abuse, neglect or negligent treatment, maltreatment or exploitation including sexual abuse.   The settings
range from home, the workplace, educational and training institutions, the community or society.
