Academics
The college has performed well in external examinations to underline the dedication of the staff. Below is the analysis of her performance in WAEC and NECO examination for the last three years.
Federal Government College, Ohafia Is one of the fifteen (15) Federal Unity Colleges that was established in 1999. But the college took off with 274 students in the year 2000 at its present site at the former Ohafia High School premises.
The pioneer principal was Dr. A. O. Okugo of blessed memory. Those who came with the principal were Mr. J. Ol Orji (Vice Principal), Mr. J. A. Udenkwo (Late), Mr. P. M. Waziri, Mr. A. E. Ukaha; Mr. M. O. Umoh; Mr. J. O. Kuye; Mr. M. A. Salihu; Mrs. G. K. Mezieobi and Mr. E. Iweha and inaugural non-reaching staff of Eighty-five (85) workers.
In March, 2001, Mr. H. M. Okeke took over from Dr. A. O. Okugfo who was reposted as the second principal. When Mr. H. M. Okeke retired in February. 2008, he handed over the college to Mrs. G. U. Ijere who acted as the principal till September, 2008 when the incumbent principal, Sir G. I. Enya took over the mantle of leadership of the college on September 26, 2008.
PHYSICAL FACILITIES
There are six (6) blocks of 30 classrooms, an Introductory Laboratory, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and HOMEC Laboratories, a Clinic, ICT Centre, Multipurpose Hall, STEP B Office and PTA Building.
The college is connected to the National Grid and has 2 functional Boreholes.
